Why am I a philosophical mother?
- I mother with my son’s future in mind. I tried to act at twenty-five and at thirty-five the way that I’d like him to act at those ages.
- I don’t care that he thinks I’m goofy or weird (now!).
- I can have a cleaner house and more writing time when my son is older, not while he still wants to play with me.
- I’m saddened that my son has to separate a little bit from me with every inch he grows, but I also know that he’s becoming more interesting, smarter, and funnier as he matures.
